Rhinoceros beetles, stag beetles, long-horned beetles, butterflies, bees, and many other insects live in satoyama forests. While learning about the insects that live in Satoyama, you can experience making specimens. You can take home the insect specimens you made.

Hiroshi Takeyama
Hyogo Prefectural Awaji Landscape Horticulture School
Associate Professor, Graduate School of Green Environment and Landscape Management, University of Hyogo
Graduated from Graduate School of Agricultural and Life Sciences, Osaka Prefecture University. After working as a researcher at the Hyogo Prefectural Human and Nature Museum, he assumed his current position in 2008. 2018 Visiting Researcher, Department of Landscape Design, Louisiana State University. His main specialty is "children's environmental studies", researching playground designs and learning programs that nurture children's creativity. We are also working to create habitat environments for insects, such as biotopes and butterfly gardens.
